Thai Bloom is a restaurant that has a passion for giving back to the community not only with their amazing food, but with their generous donations to organizations in the area! They are proud to be supporting Northwest Kidney Kids Gala & Auction on April 6th 2024 at Gray Gables Estate.
Northwest Kidney Kids is a non-profit in the PNW that serves Children with Chronic Kidney Disease and their families. They are able to provide three overnight camps during the year because of generous donations. They host two youth camps, Winter and Summer, and a family summer camp that includes the entire family. They are also able to provide programs throughout the year that include, youth outings, connection groups, family outings, and providing blood pressure cuffs and urine sticks to the local hospitals for the families that need them. All of these programs and camps do not cost the families anything to attend or receive.
Their Gala & Auction event invites 200 of the community’s providers, nurses, dialysis techs, donors, sponsors, families, and supporters to join them for an evening raising awareness and funds for the Kidney Kids and families in their communities. They will be hosting an online auction beginning on Wednesday April 3rd, with a silent and live auction in person on April 6th.
The event includes dinner, dessert, hosted bar, silent auction, wine wall, and raffles. The program for the evening includes a mission speaker to speak about their personal experience going through life with a child with Chronic Kidney Disease, a paddle raise, the John Barry Award and the Suzanne Billings Memorial Scholarship.

The Go Beat Cancer Golf Tournament is an annual event held at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club which brings together golf enthusiasts, sponsors, and donors to raise funds for cancer research at Providence Cancer Institute here in Portland. At Providence Cancer Institute cancer research is the primary focus in which a team of innovative physicians and scientists work together to improve cancer treatment methods. Thai Bloom has proudly lent their support to this tournament, recognizing the importance of advanced life-saving research and treatments. By contributing support Thai Bloom is playing a vital role in ensuring the success of the tournament and the furtherance of cancer research initiatives. Thai Bloom’s commitment to supporting cancer research sets them apart in their mission to make a difference. Their participation in the Go Beat Cancer Golf Tournament exemplifies their dedication to giving back and supporting the fight against cancer. Chinese Charter School was founded in 2012 as the first public Chinese immersion school in the Beaverton School District. The vision for the school was initiated in 2010 by parents and quickly gained momentum and high interest from local educators, leaders, and community organizations. These volunteers donated hundreds of hours and private funding for the dream of offering Chinese immersion to local students.

Xi Wang Gala is Hope Chinese Charter School’s largest fundraiser and only occurs once a year. Again, it will be held virtually to allow a more extensive community audience to join in from the comfort of their homes. The silent auction will open on Friday, March 3rd, with a Live Virtual Auction broadcast at 7 pm on March 10th. So let’s join Thai Bloom and us and support what this school is all about.

Thai Bloom is thrilled to support Breast Friends this summer in their annual sell-out Golf Tournament to raise funds to support their programs serving the greater Portland area with workshops, walking groups, Brave & Beautiful photo shoots, monthly connection meetings, and so much more. Breast Friends is there for women at the time of a breast cancer diagnosis, through treatment and beyond into survivorship.

Their 15th Annual event at Stone Creek Golf Club in Oregon City hosts 144 players in a 4-person scramble on July 17, 2023. Happy October! Thai Bloom is featuring a couple of Pink Drinks in support of spreading Breast Cancer Awareness this month. Thai Bloom will donate 10% of Pink Drink sales to the Susan G. Komen non profit organization https://www.komen.org in the month of October.

Our featured drinks are Pink Lemon Drop (a delightful version of classic lemon drop, with a splash of pink lemonade juice, and beautifully white-sugared rim) and Pretty in Pink Mimosa (a traditional style mimosa using prosecco, and grapefruit juice.) Breast Cancer Awareness is important as it impacts everybody. We all have people in our life that this affects; whether it be family, friends, and/or colleagues.

Did you know that ALL women are at risk for breast cancer? Breast cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer death for women in the United States, after lung cancer. According to the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC), in 2022 it is estimated that 43,250 women and 530 men will die of breast cancer. Only 5-10% of women (5-20% of males) with breast cancer have inherited a mutation in a known breast cancer gene (e.g., BRCA1 and BRCA2). Early detection can save lives, which is why it’s so important for regular self-examinations and screenings. As we get older, we become more at risk. Knowing your family history is also useful as it can be passed down from generations. Making healthy lifestyle choices are good preventative measures, however, there is no guarantee to completely avoid breast cancer.

Thai Bloom is excited to celebrate nurses for National Nurses Week (May 6-12th). The purpose of nurses week is to honor the strength, dedication, and perseverance of nurses in the field. This year Thai Bloom is donating to Oregon Health and Science University- Mother Baby Unit to shower a nurse with a little extra love! We are thrilled to have Thai Bloom give recognition to nurses everywhere by joining our celebration with a raffle prize. This year we have decided to solicit donations from the community and raffle off prizes to celebrate our nurses a little extra. It’s generous (and yummy!) local businesses like Thai Bloom that are helping make our event a success.

Every nurse deserves recognition, and the Maternity Services at OSHU is no different. These amazing individuals have taken the added challenges of helping families grow during a pandemic in stride. The pandemic has been challenging for the community at large and we have felt the additional strain when it comes to the vulnerable population we serve. 

OSHU- Mother Baby unit supports the range of routine to complicated pregnancies and pregnancy related issues while striving to bring the most inclusive and best care to the greater metro area families. Our work is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for all Oregonians through excellence, innovation and leadership in health care, education and research. Cure Silent Auction, which helps raise funds and awareness for life-saving breast cancer research, education, resources, and treatment for breast cancer patients and survivors. It is through the support of the community that the American Cancer Society can continue its life-saving mission to attack cancer from every angle. With more than 3.8 million breast cancer survivors living in the US today, ACS has helped fund more than 76 million dollars in breast cancer research and you as a community can help by joining Care. Click. Cure virtually during October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month). Making Strides is also hosting a Drive Through event on Saturday, October 16th at the Daimler Campus. This event celebrates survivors and the breast cancer community at large and invites the community to decorate their cars and join in for interactive activities, celebrations, and a drive through photobooth.
